What to do in LA for a day? Some where close to the airport.?

Im travelling to london early next year and there is a stopover in LA and im there for about 12 hours so what are some things to do that are close to the airport taking im mind that i have to check out then back in again i wont have that much time. I googled mapped it and desided i am going to go to RANDYS doughnuts lol what else is there to do?
